When farmer-owned, global food company Danish Crown chose a headless and composable setup, they committed to a full architecture overhaul.

In 2024, Danish Crown built a brand-new tech infrastructure built using Enterspeed to modernise their digital experience. The goal? A faster, more scalable frontend to support their ambitious content strategy and deliver a smooth user experience across markets.

Clear objectives from the start

Danish Crown’s goals were ambitious and well-defined:

  • Strong security
  • Modern setup
  • More simplicity
  • International scalability
  • High performance
  • Superior agility

To orchestrate this, Danish Crown selected Enterspeed as their central orchestration layer.

The results: Performance in the green

As of September 2025, here’s how www.danishcrown.com has performed over the past 12 months:

Danish Crown performance numbers

These scores reflect a site that’s not only fast but also accessible, SEO-friendly, and built on best practices. Danish Crown’s users enjoy a seamless experience – and their internal teams see the benefits too.

A word from Danish Crown

Head of Digital Agency and Consumer Engagement in Danish Crown, Mia Balle Sørensen say:

– We set several goals when we launched our new website that basically spanned almost 100 “old” sites. We wanted to give our users a better online experience. We wanted better SEO results, we wanted a modern infrastructure with great security, and we wanted scalability. Now, a year in, we’ve actually reached every single goal.

Ready for the next (AI) steps

This future-readiness is no coincidence.

– Going forward, our flexible setup positions us well to react to a market that sees a lot of change and movement, such as the rise of AI. Thanks to Enterspeed’s orchestration layer, we can add AI solutions to our tech stack faster and utilise the many benefits offered. It’s great that we don’t have to change our whole setup to test out new opportunities within our tech stack, Mia Balle Sørensen explains.

Better than good: Benchmarking against Google’s standards

According to Treo's Core Web Vitals and Site Speed Test, here’s how Danish Crown stacks up:

  • TTFB: Less than 0.8 seconds → ✅ Danish Crown’s 0.6 is well below!
  • FCP: Less than 1.8 seconds → ✅ Danish Crown’s 1.5 is well below!
  • LCP: Less than 2.5 seconds → ✅ Danish Crown’s 1.8 is (very) well below!

The new website launched in September 2024.

As you can see, Time to First Byte, First Contentful Paint, and Largest Contentful Paint all improved by a lot and is now staying comfortable under the “Good” metrics line. Basically, the numbers indicate a website and UX with top-of-the-line performance based on real user experiences 😊

With automatic scaling built in, our Delivery API adapts seamlessly to traffic spikes, ensuring high performance even with thousands of concurrent users.
